AI Skills, Powered by Values

The VALUES Open Educational Resources support youth workers and educators in teaching young people how to use artificial intelligence ethically, responsibly, and with confidence.

This collection of eight ready-to-use workshop modules covers the key ethical dimensions of AI — from bias and transparency to privacy, legal rights, and disinformation — and provides everything a facilitator needs to run engaging sessions with young people.

The materials have been developed and piloted across six European countries and are available free of charge under a Creative Commons licence.

What the OERs Include

Module 1 – Fairness and Bias in AI

How bias enters AI systems, why it matters, and practical rules for fairer AI use.

Module 2 – Transparency in AI-Generated Content

What transparency means in practice, how to label AI-assisted work, and questions of authorship.

Module 3 – Disinformation, Deepfakes and Data Manipulation

How to recognise AI-driven deception and act responsibly as a content creator.

Module 4 – Reliable AI-Assisted Content

Avoiding hallucinations, evaluating sources, and staying an accountable author when using AI.

Module 5 – Data Privacy and Safe Use of AI Tools

What data AI tools collect, safer workflows, and everyday GDPR awareness.

Module 6 – AI and Digital Footprint

Understanding the data trails AI creates and how to manage them.

Module 7 – Acting Legally with AI

Copyright, personality rights, the EU AI Act, and making lawful decisions with AI tools.

Module 8 – The AI Decision Game (Capstone)

A scenario-based capstone that brings all themes together through applied decision-making.

Each module includes facilitator slides, timing guidance, discussion questions, exercises, and real-world examples. Sessions run between 50 and 95 minutes and can be delivered in person, online, or in hybrid settings.
